If you love Celebrity Cruises on the seas and have always thought of taking a river cruise, mark 2027 on your calendar. That’s when Celebrity River Cruises is launching – and you can book your place on one of the first European river cruises by this ‘modern luxury’ cruise line this year!
In an announcement that took cruise and travel fans completely by surprise, Celebrity Cruises has revealed it has ordered a whopping 10 river cruise ships right out of the gate.
The cruise line tells us their river ships will have the same atmosphere, hospitality, award-winning food and beverage experiences, and elevated design and style as Celebrity’s beloved Edge-class ocean ships. It adds the upcoming fleet of river cruise ships will “give guests 360 degrees of breathtaking views, (and) every moment will be designed to immerse guests in the beauty of the journey.”
The company adds, “Celebrity River Cruises is a natural extension of Celebrity’s premium offering that will bring its unique service-first approach to the river. Guests will get the keys to sail through the heart of culturally and historically significant cities, experience locally inspired cuisine and unique shore experiences – The Celebrity Way.”
Scaling Celebrity Cruises’ Edge-class ocean ship sensibilities into a river cruise fleet for Europe isn’t the cruise line’s only ambition.
It appears Celebrity has the world’s exotic rivers in mind, too!
In the announcement, Celebrity Cruises’ president, Laura Hodges Bethge, is quoted as saying, “Celebrity River Cruises will bring the quality and sophistication of our Edge Series ocean ships to the most iconic rivers, starting with Europe.
“We are thrilled to bring these experiences to the river and combine them with authentic, destination-rich itineraries that will give our guests an experience unlike any other.”
Stay tuned here for more information about ship details, inaugural season destinations, and when booking opens!
